The Council of Europe and Interpol signed a licensing agreement which enables the 196 member states of Interpol to benefit from the massive open online course (MOOC) on the Saint-Denis Convention through its e-learning platform.
The Council of Europe already signed a similar agreement with UEFA which enables the training of their staff on the principles and standards of the Saint-Denis Convention.
Other sports organisations, like FIFA and the Confédération africaine de football (CAF), as well as numerous national authorities, also use this MOOC as a reference e-learning tool for their staff responsible for safety, security and service at football matches and other sports events.
The course aims to promote the principles and standards enshrined in the Saint-Denis Convention and its Recommendations. It is comprised of eight modules, which contain elements to lead effective and efficient safety, security and service management at sports events with the aim of making football matches and other sports events safer, more secure and more welcoming for all.
