Irena Guidikova, Head of the Children’s Rights and Sport Values Department at the Council of Europe, opened the "1st International Congress on Safety and Security at Sports Events (S4 Congress)" via video message, organised by the Portuguese Authority for the Prevention and Fight Against Sport-Related Violence (APCVD), on October 13 and 14, in Viseu, Portugal
This high-level event was the perfect occasion for launching the Portuguese version of the online training course (MOOC) on "Safety, Security and Service at Sports Events", aimed at promoting the Saint-Denis Convention world-wide.
The Council of Europe, APCVD and the University of Liverpool have cooperated to translate and adapt it to Portuguese, in order to contribute to safer, more secure and more welcoming sports events in Portugal. This linguistic version should also be an important tool for the community of Portuguese-speaking countries.
The course is also available in English and Polish, with versions in Spanish, French and German being prepared for future release.
