On 10 December 2019, the Permanent Representation of Bulgaria to the Council of Europe deposited with the Secretary General, the instrument of ratification of the Council of Europe Convention on an Integrated Safety, Security and Service Approach at Football Matches and Other Sports Events (CETS Nº 218), also known as the Saint-Denis Convention.

Bulgaria is the 12th State Party to ratify this Convention, which entered into force on 1 November 2017.

The Saint-Denis Convention shall enter into force in Bulgaria on 1 February 2020.
