Physical education and school sports - Webinar
Consultative Committee webinar organised by the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport on 21 February 2022
Format: Online from Strasbourg, France
Participation per se in physical education and school sport does not necessarily facilitate an ethical development in children and youth.
Physical educators and sport coaches need to organise young people’s experiences of games and activities in such a way as to make the ethical dimensions of sport explicit.
The aim of this webinar was to discuss the relevance of school sports and physical education as a tool for promoting human rights and democracy. In addition, the webinar discussed how PE teachers and coaches can implement a values-based physical education and sports training approach.
