Participatory and deliberative democracy
The CDDEM promotes the participation of citizens in political decision-making, in particular youth, women and girls, and supports member States to introduce new forms of participation. This includes exploring innovative ways that States can effectively engage with citizens, including through the use of digital technologies, and developing individuals’ capacities to use such technologies, including AI, in democratic life through digital literacy programmes.
