Mediators of the National Agency for Crime Prevention, Execution of Non-custodial Sentences and Probation enhanced their knowledge on behavioural science perspective on unconscious processes in mediation. The training was organized on 29 June and the aim of the activity was to increase the professionalism of the mediators. The training session was opened by Natalia Voutova, head of the Council of Europe Office in Georgia and Maurice Paulussen, Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. 

During the training, the participants were introduced to the theories of psychology about the working of the unconscious minds, concepts of biases (gender bias, in-group bias, etc.) and how unconscious moral judgments about mediation participants can affect the perceptions and judgments of mediators.

The training was organised by the Council of Europe Project “Promoting Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in Georgia.”
