Donor Coordination meeting to address labour rights challenges in Georgia

For the second time, the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening Protection of Social and Economic Rights in Georgia” brought together international organisations working in different areas related to strengthening protection of labour rights in Georgia.

Donor organizations and Georgian stakeholders such as the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labour, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Public Defender’s Office, LEPL Labour Inspection Office, Donor Coordination Unit of the Administration of the Government of Georgia attended the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to map and coordinate donors’ actions in alignment with the government’s priorities, which in turn will increase the results of donors’ interventions in the field.

The Council of Europe is one of the donors willing to coordinate its actions with other development partners to exchange information and experience on implemented and planned activities.

The Council of Europe will keep organizing the meetings of this kind to identify gaps in donor activities and funding, develop a holistic approach and make donor interventions more targeted and streamlined.

The event was organised within the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Strengthening Protection of Social and Economic Rights in Georgia.” The Project is part of the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023
