Equality Ambassadors designed new initiatives for their communities

The Equality Ambassadors held a two-day meeting in Borjomi to discuss their upcoming initiatives, plans and ways to overcome challenges within their activities.

During the meeting, they met with the representatives of the Public Defender’s Office in Georgia, the Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Coalition for Equality to talk about human rights and redress mechanisms against discrimination. They also learned about effective communication tools which can be used in their awareness-raising activities.

As a result of the meeting, the Equality Ambassadors planned their future initiatives on diversity and equality in Tbilisi and the regions of Georgia.

The Equality Ambassadors were selected in Tbilisi, Adjara, Kvemo Kartli, Samtskhe-Javakheti and Pankisi as part of the “I Choose Equality” campaign aiming to contribute to promoting equality and diversity.

This activity is implemented in the framework of the Project “Promoting the Effective Protection of Equality and Non-Discrimination in Georgia”. The Project is funded through the Council of Europe Action Plan for Georgia 2020-2023.
