The aim of the project

To contribute to the reinforcement of the protection of individuals with regard to their right to privacy and right to personal data protection.

How will the project work?

Support the State Inspector’s Service of Georgia (supervisory authority overseeing the implementation of the data protection legislation in Georgia) in delivering its mission and exercising its powers more effectively;

Provision of necessary resources/materials on European data protection standards in Georgian language easily available for Georgian legal professionals.

Project activities
  • Translation into Georgian and publication of the Handbook on European Data Protection Law;
  • Translation and adaptation of the Human Rights ELearning Programme (HELP) on Data Protection and Privacy Rights;
  • Publication in Georgian of the Guidelines on Safeguarding Privacy in the Media followed by the training of respective focus groups

How much will it cost?

The total budget of the project amounts to 85 600 EUR

The Project is funded by the voluntary contributions of a number of Council of Europe Member States, namely, by Bulgaria, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Norway, Slovak Republic, Sweden.
