Support to the Profession of Lawyer in Georgia
The co-operation Project “Support to the Profession of Lawyer in Georgia” aims to enhance the lawyer’s role in administering justice by facilitating dialogue with the justice sector. The project supports efficient functioning of the Georgian Bar Association (GBA) and bringing the ethical and professional standards of lawyers in Georgia in line with European standards.
- The lawyer profession and GBA-related legislation and regulatory framework are harmonised with the European standards;
- The quality of the GBA operational processes is enhanced;
- The efficiency of the GBA Ethics Commission is increased;
- The role of a lawyer’s profession in administering justice is enhanced.

The project runs from 15 December 2019 until 14 December 2021
The project is implemented by the Council of Europe’s Legal Cooperation Division of the Justice and Legal Cooperation Department, Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law together with the Council of Europe Office in Georgia.
