Patricia O’Brien, Ambassador of Ireland to Italy, was in Venice for the premiere of the film The Banishees of Inisherin at the 79° Edition of the Film Festival and paid a courtesy visit to the Council of Europe Office where she was received by its head Luisella Pavan-Woolfe. Ambassador O’Brien served as Ambassador to France and Monaco and Ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva. Previously she served as Under-Secretary-General for legal affairs at the United Nations. Ireland’s presidency of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe started on 20 May and will continue until 8 November 2022.
