Silk is again at the forefront of cultural exchanges in Umbria. On 29 September, at the Cogna Palace in Castiglione del Lago, the Faro Trasimeno Association gathered national and international experts on the occasion of European Heritage Days. Luisella Pavan Woolfe, head of the Venice Office of the Council of Europe and Marinella Morbidelli, director of the Faro Trasimeno Association, opened the Conference together with mayor Mattero Burico. Authors Maria Giuseppina Muzzarelli (“Le vie italiane della seta”) and Manuel Vaquero (“Il baco da seta in Umbria”), Ofelia Guadagnino (Ficlu, Catania) and Signorino Leonardi (Lyon), presented their research and activities on the history of silk production in the region and the rest of the country.
