The Department of Culture of the City of Sommacampagna proposes, on the occasion of Holocaust Memorial Day, a variety of initiatives that will take place under the aegis of the Italian Representation of the Council of Europe.

In order to let the youngest understand the severity of the events occurred during the years of the anti-Semitic persecution, a short film with readings will be issued in schools and on distance learning platforms.

A documentary based on the story of the only surviving concentration camp victim in Sommacampagna will also be made available online. Finally, the families of citizens deported and interned in Nazi concentration camps will be awarded nineteen medals of honour by Mayor Fabrizio Bertolaso.
