Secretary General Marija Pejčinović Burić and Parliamentary Assembly President Liliane Maury Pasquier welcomed the participants to the opening session of the World Forum for Democracy this morning.

The City of Strasbourg, the Region Grand-Est (Alsace-Champagne-Ardenne-Lorraine), the Conseil départemental of Bas-Rhin and the French Government also adddressed their welcome words at the opening Session.

1700 participants and 200 speakers will debate “Is democracy in danger in the information age?” during 3 days in Strasbourg.
