We just received an inspiring update from the 2024 winner, Michele Bravos, from the Instituto Aurora for Human Rights (initiative of the Lab 9).
The impact of the prize has been incredible! : From national TV coverage in Brazil to rekindled partnerships, unexpected collaborations, and even a Museum of Democracy connection—this journey keeps unfolding:
1. In Brazil, the win brought media attention, leading to TV coverage and an article in a feminist news portal. Now, Michele will be a regular contributor in 2025.

2. The Instituto Aurora hosted a year-end gathering with partners, volunteers, and board members—some in person, others online. The win boosted the confidence and sense of community. Even a past partner, who had distanced from the Insitute, attended and reconnected, which was meaningful. As you can see in the photos, everyone wanted to hold the trophy!
3. A Museum of Democracy is being developed and thanks to the prize, Michele was connected with its creators for potential collaboration.
4. A fundraiser offered pro-bono support this year, helping the Institute to strategize for greater impact, especially in Northern and Northeastern Brazil.
