In Germany, France and Switzerland, women did not have the right to vote until the 20th century. Germany was the first of these three countries to introduce female suffrage, in 1918. France followed in 1944. In Switzerland, the canton of Vaud was the first to introduce women's voting rights in 1959. The last Swiss canton was Appenzell Innerrhoden, after a decision by the Federal Court in 1990.

The congress offers the opportunity to network committed men and women from politics, business and society. After a short retrospective, personalities from the three countries will share their experiences and discuss current challenges for women in politics.
