Marina CALLONI

Marina Calloni is is full professor in social and political philosophy at the University of Milano-Bicocca in Milan. She is coordinator of the departmental research center "EDV Italy Project", devoted to the fight against domestic violence, the first of this kind in Italy, and director of a master on "Violence against women and children: how to know and to combat the phenomenon.” From 2007 to 2013 she was a component of the Inter-ministerial Committee for Human Rights (CIDU), based at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome. From 2007 to 2010 she was member of the management board of the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights. She has collaborated with the "Parliamentary Investigation Committee on feminicide as well as on any form of gender-based violence" at the Senate of the Italian Republic for a research on the application of the Domestic Homicide Review proceeding in Italy. She is director of a project financed by the Department for Equal Opportunities - Presidency of the Council of Ministries, called UNIRE, with the aim at constituting a network of Italian as well as European universities engaged in gender issues, in collaboration with the Council of Europe.
