On 15 December 2022, certificates were awarded to 16 representatives of the Probation Service of Armenia for successfully completing the HELP course on “Alternative measures to Detention”.  

The participants appreciated this e-learning course and the possibility to deepen their knowledge regarding the alternative measures to detention with the guidance of a tutor. The course covered the key concepts and principles related to community sanctions and measures as an alternative to detention, the CoE standards in this respect as well as the case law of the European Court of Human Rights.

The course was translated into Armenian language and adapted to the national context and supplemented with materials related to the domestic legislation within the framework of the Project “Support of the scaling-up of the Probation service in Armenia” implemented by the Council of Europe and financed by the Action Plan for Armenia 2019 -2022.
