The Youth Department is organising a training workshop on education with young people in Lithuania about the Roma genocide to be held during 6-9 November in Vilnius, Lithuania.
The training workshop will aim to develop the competences and motivation of 25 youth leaders and human rights activists in organising non-formal educational activities with Lithuanian young people about the Roma Genocide on the basis of the Right to Remember handbook. During the event a launching event will be organised to promote the Lithuanian version of the Right to Remember handbook for education with young people on the Roma Genocide which was initially developed within the framework of the Roma Youth Action Plan project. The handbook has been translated in Lithuanian by the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania with the aim to promote better understanding of young people about the Roma Genocide occurred during the Second World War.
The training workshop is organized part of the Roma Youth Action Plan project of the Council of Europe in partnership with the Department of National Minorities under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and Roma Community Centre.
