Amnesty International Italy and Switzerland organised a regional Compass training course to empower young people and promote human rights in the transalpine area. The training course took place in Turin, Italy from 27 to 30 October.

 This activity contributed to the localisation of human rights education through capacity-building activities for multipliers and partners of Amnesty International in the region, in line with the Roadmap for education for democratic citizenship and human rights education with young people (2024-2028), adopted by the Joint Council on Youth in October 2023.

 Twenty-eight youth workers, educators, and activists designed human rights education initiatives both locally and across regions, informed by a needs analysis conducted within their communities. These initiatives will draw on the enhanced competencies in human rights and human rights education gained during the training course and based on the Compass manual. Participants will also establish a transalpine network of human rights education practitioners, engaging Amnesty International sections, and key regional partners.
