This week, from 17 to 22 February 2025, the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg is hosting a training course for volunteers, members and staff from various international youth organisations. The aim is to equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to effectively organise international youth activities, while fostering intercultural learning and co-operation and in line with the Council of Europe’s values and standards.
Through non-formal and intercultural learning, and by sharing their own experiences, the participants will gain practical insights into international youth co-operation.
“It is only through networking and accepting each other’s perspectives that we can make better work in our own organisations”, said Luiza Vardanyan, a participant of the course representing No Hate Speech Network. Similarly, Laura Montosa Martin from the World Association of Girl Guides And Girl Scouts highlighted that building trust and spending time together are essential steps in developing quality international youth activities.
Beyond improving organisational skills, the training course also aims to strengthen participants' understanding of how their work connects to the priorities and tools of the Council of Europe. It provides a space for youth organisations and networks to make valuable contributions to the programme of the European Youth Centres and of the European Youth Foundation, through constructive dialogue.
The course is based mainly on partnerships with youth organisations holding study sessions in the European Youth Centres and running activities with the financial support of the European Youth Foundation (EYF).
