The Joint Council on Youth has entrusted a group of experts with the drafting of a Committee of Ministers recommendation addressed to governments of member states on peace education in non-formal education and youth work.

 The group met at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg on 11 and 12 March with the aim of clarifying the terms of reference of the drafting process and group, the timeline for the drafting process, the purposes of such a recommendation for different stakeholders and the fundamental contents of the recommendation.

 The working group will meet again in June 2025 for the (hopeful) finalisation of the text. The aim is for the statutory bodies of the Council of Europe Youth Sector to endorse the plan for its adoption by the Committee of Ministers at the November 2025 meetings.
