51st meeting of the Programming Committee on Youth: results and decisions

The Programming Committee on Youth (CPJ) held its 51st meeting on 13 – 14 June 2024 at the European Youth Centre Budapest.

At the meeting, the Committee approved the draft programme of activities of the European Youth Centres in Strasbourg and Budapest for 2025. Decisions were also made on study sessions  to be organised at the European Youth Centres and grants of the European Youth Foundation (EYF) for 2025.

In addition, the Committee discussed the reform of the EYF and the EYF grants to pilot activities for national and local youth organisations. The Committee also considered an evaluation of the projects implemented with funding by the EYF in the framework of the EYF Special call in support of young people from Ukraine, reaffirming their ongoing support to young people in Ukraine or displaced abroad affected by the war of aggression of the Russian Federation..

Following the 1 April 2024 deadline for grant applications, the Programming Committee on Youth awarded grants to the nine international activities of national and international youth organisations and annual work plans of 17 youth organisations for 2025, with a total amount of the grants of approximately 1.1 million euros.

Following the 15 April 2024 application deadline, the Committee approved study sessions for 17 youth organisations to take place at the European Youth Centres in the first half of 2025.

This was the first meeting of the new mandate of Programming Committee on Youth 2024-2025. The CPJ is a co-managed body of the youth sector of the Council of Europe, comprising eight representatives of youth organisations and eight governmental representatives from the Council of Europe member States.
