The Norwegian Minister for Children and Equality, Ms Linda Hofstad Helleland, accompanied by Ambassador Walaas, visited the European Youth Centre on Monday 19 March starting her first official visit to the Council of Europe. She exchanged with the Head of the Youth Department on the educational programmes and youth policy standards of the Council of Europe’s youth sector and learnt about the Norwegian involvement in the building of the European Youth Centre in 1972 and the long-standing support of Norway to promote participative and empowering youth policies. Minister Hofstad Helleland met for a brief exchange with a group of young Europeans taking part in a study session dealing with the topic of “Youth Against Online Discrimination”.
