On 6-7 June 2023, the ICC programme will carry out an expert visit to Sherbrooke, Canada.
A representative of the Council of Europe and an independent expert will meet the mayor, members of the city council, staff representing various departments of the municipality, as well as a wide range of stakeholders (para-municipal agencies, institutions, community, etc.) working in different fields related to intercultural integration, in order to establish an in-depth "diagnosis" of the city's strengths and needs in terms of intercultural policies and governance.
The programme of the visit includes an opening meeting during which, among other, the intercultural model and the ICC programme will be presented, as well as a series of thematic meetings, covering areas such as economy and business, welcoming, education, recruitment and policing.
The visit will further result in a report that will draw the “intercultural profile” of the city and provide targeted recommendations as a basis for subsequent work.
