The Bureau of the Committee of Convention 108 held its 60^th meeting from 14 to 15 December 2023. It welcomed the important acceleration of the ratification process of the amending Protocol CETS No. 223 (known as Convention 108+) with 11 instruments deposited just for 2023, thus reaching 31 Parties to this landmark instrument. Seven more ratifications are needed for it to enter into force. The Bureau reviewed the first draft of the 3^rd module of the Model Contractual Clauses for the transfer of personal data focusing on the transfer from processor to processor. This third module, expected to be finalised at the next T-PD plenary meeting in June 2024, will complement the first two modules (from controller to controller (Module 1), and from controller to processor (Module 2) published this year. It also continued working on the draft Guidelines on the processing of sensitive personal data for the purposes of voter registration and authentication. The Bureau held an exchange of views on the Data Protection in the context of neurosciences with a view to developing guidelines in this area.
