The Secretariat of the Committee of Convention 108 participated in the Summer Course on European Data Protection Law organized by the Academy of European Law (ERA) on 16 September 2024 in Trier, Germany.
In the panel entitled “Data Protection Law in Europe – Setting the Scene”, the Secretariat presented the relevance, impact and opportunities of Convention 108+ as amended by Protocol CETS. 223 to Europe and globally.
The course gathered high-level experts and aimed to give an overview of the fundamentals of European data protection law, and legal questions related to the application of legal instruments by discussing legislative developments and relevant case law, as well as practical case studies.
