On 21 April, the Head of Data Protection Unit of the Council of Europe and Secretary to the Committee to Convention 108 co-moderated a symposium organised under the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Held in Paris, the symposium brought together around 150 participants representing police and judiciary authorities, magistrates, representatives of the civil society, of data protection fields, of operators, at national, European and international levels, to discuss the issues of access to data by police and judiciary authorities in the context of the digital transformation of the society, with the objective, in particular, to foster dialogue between the various actors.
