Pécs, Hungary - Intercultural City
Pécs is the fifth largest city of Hungary, located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains in the south-west of the country, close to its border with Croatia. It is the administrative and economical centre of Baranya County.
In Pécs, the most important ethnic group – people of Hungarian origin - makes up 85% of the city’s inhabitants. The largest minority groups, Roma (8%) and ethnic Germans (5%)4, have been living in Pécs for decades.
