In a report published today, GRECO, the Council of Europe’s anti-corruption group, states that Switzerland has achieved real progress in implementing the group’s recommendations on incriminations (see also the German and Italian versions of the report).
However, GRECO expresses regret that the federal government is maintaining its position of not legislating on the transparency of party and election campaign funding.
The report concludes that Switzerland has satisfactorily implemented five out of eleven recommendations, namely all those relating to incriminations, but not a single one on the transparency of political funding.
