Professor of Politics at Princeton University and leading expert on populism, Jan-Werner Müller, is taking part in a lecture-debate at the Council of Europe on Friday 17 February: « How Populism endangers Democracy – and how to fight it ». Professor Müller studied at the Berlin Free University, University College London, St Antony’s College Oxford and Princeton University. He is a co-founder of the European College of Liberal Arts (ECLA), Berlin, Germany’s first private English-speaking liberal arts college. In 2016 his book « Was ist Populismus ? » was published in German by Suhrkamp, and in English by the University of Pennsylvania Press. Professor Müller has also contributed articles to the Financial Times, the Guardian, Foreign Affairs, Prospect magazine and the London Review of Books.
