In a report published today, the Council of Europe’s anti-corruption group (GRECO) considers that Switzerland has made no progress in implementing its recommendations on the transparency of political funding (see also the German and Italian versions of the report).
GRECO expresses regret that the federal government is maintaining its position of not legislating on the transparency of party and election campaign funding.
The report concludes that Switzerland has satisfactorily implemented five out of eleven recommendations, namely all those relating to incriminations, but not a single one on the transparency of political funding.
