Taking place on 15-18 July, this online event will bring together young people to think, create, and build bridges by making their differences a strength. The programme will be more ambitious than in previous years and the Summit will not only concern Spanish cities as usually, but also other international cities involved in Antirumours Strategies implementation.
The AYS 2021 will be based on three fundamental elements:
Youth Skills: young people have power as changemakers in society; their participation in societal change should be supported by recognizing and further developing their skills and competences. For this reason, the 2021 Summit will be held within the framework of the World Youth Skills Day (July 15th).
Practical tools for life and activism: becoming a social changemaker requires a lot of effort, and a good amount of sensitivity and commitment, but it also requires a good set of tools to navigate and face all the challenges in an efficient and impactful way. That is why this new edition of the Summit will not only provide youngsters with the chance to exchange ideas, concerns and identify potential synergies, but it will also equip young participants with specific tools that can be useful for their role as Antirumours Agents as well as for their own personal, professional and social lives.
SDGs: The Antirumours Strategy and the work young people do in order to the impact of stereotypes and fostering the creation of intercultural and inclusive societies is, without a doubt, strongly connected to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and specifically with the Goals 10, 11, 16 and 17.
Goals of the AYS:
- Exchange strategies, experiences and tools.
- Develop a wider global antirumours community of young activist/agents
- Acquire new and useful tools to develop new actions and campaigns
- Enhance the potential and value of young people in building societies free of rumours
- Internationalise the Youth Summit and enlarge the exchange of experiences between ICC territories
