Today, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielius Landsbergis, as President of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, presented the priorities and programme of Lithuania’s Presidency to members of the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).
This is the second Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of Europe. Based in Strasbourg, the international organisation with 46 member states aims to ensure the respect for human rights, democracy and the rule of law in Europe. It is one of the very few organisations that expelled the aggressor state right after the start of Russia’s full-scale war of aggression against Ukraine.
