Webinar “Gender Mainstreaming Law Schools’ Curricula”

How can gender mainstreaming strengthen women’s access to justice? What are the promising practices in Europe on ensuring gender equality in academia and research? How gender mainstreaming law schools contributes to addressing gender bias among legal professionals? These were the questions that we answered in a webinar on 7 December 2020.

More than 50 university staff, senior management and researchers from higher education institutions in Council of Europe member States participated to the launching webinar of the Checklist for Gender Mainstreaming Law Schools’ Curricula and its interactive tool. There is an urgent need for  tools and support networks on gender mainstreaming academia, particularly in view of the impact of Covid-19 on women’s rights and the rising anti-gender sentiments and opposition in several European countries.

Additional resources and the recording of the webinar can be found here.

This activity was organized in the framework of the European Union and Council of Europe joint programme Partnership for Good Governance II under the regional project on Women’s Access to Justice: Delivering on the Istanbul Convention and other European gender equality standards.
