In 2015, Strasbourg launched a European Network of Solidarity Cities with its partner cities of Catania and Rovereo, with the aim of developing initiatives to ensure that refugees can be welcomed and integrated in a dignified manner.
The role of this network is to promote local initiatives to national and European institutions. The goal is also to give a voice to what is happening at local level and in this way to initiate dialogue between the various tiers of governance (local, national and European). This project is being implemented by Strasbourg City Council with the network of partner cities of the Club de Strasbourg.
