The complaint was submitted by several stakeholders who were concerned that the construction of a fence on the Belarus-Poland border in the Belovezhskaya Pushcha, which is a site with the European diploma for protected areas, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Emerald Network (Belarus) / Natura 2000 (Poland), could affect wildlife.
It was dismissed in autumn 2022 by the Bureau who were satisfied that the government’s response covered the issues raised by the complainant.
