Toute personne travaillant pour ou dans un centre de fécondation, qui prend connaissance d’informations permettant d’identifier le donneur est tenue au secret professionnel (art. 458 du Code pénal). Cependant, le don non anonyme de gamètes résultant d’un accord entre le donneur et le ou les receveurs est autorisé.
