a) « Risque avéré de transmission d’une maladie génétique grave d’une femme ou d’un homme à un enfant conçu naturellement, pouvant entraîner chez l’enfant un handicap grave et/ou une mort prématurée ».
b) « Risque avéré qu’un enfant issu d’une insémination naturelle naisse avec une maladie non génétique, pouvant entraîner un handicap grave et/ou une mort prématurée ».
ii. pour les femmes ne vivant pas en couple hétérosexuel

En conséquence, le projet de loi géorgien sur la santé reproductive et les droits en matière de procréation permet aux couples hétérosexuels ou aux femmes célibataires d’accéder aux technologies de la procréation médicalement assistée, sous réserve qu’au moins l’une des conditions énumérées ci-dessous soit satisfaite :
- la femme et/ou l’homme en âge de procréer souffre d’infertilité ; les autres possibilités disponibles dans le pays pour traiter l’infertilité se sont révélées inefficaces ; ou un tel traitement n’a pas encore été administré, mais certains éléments laissent à penser qu’il sera inefficace, ce que confirme un établissement médical public dûment autorisé ;
- il existe un risque avéré de transmission d’une maladie génétique grave d’une femme ou d’un homme à un enfant conçu naturellement, pouvant entraîner chez l’enfant un handicap grave et/ou une mort prématurée ;
- il existe un risque avéré qu’un enfant issu d’une insémination naturelle naisse avec une maladie non génétique, pouvant entraîner un handicap grave et/ou une mort prématurée ;
- la femme est porteuse d’une maladie qui fait que la grossesse pourrait mettre en danger sa vie et/ou sa santé ;
c Autres- Il existe un critère médical supplémentaire, mais uniquement pour l’accès à la maternité de substitution : l’existence d’une maladie qui fait que la grossesse pourrait mettre en danger la vie et/ou la santé de la femme.
