Citizens enhance participatory budgeting processes
This initiative aims to further enhance the participatory budgeting scheme to create sound procedures and remove potential obstacles. This involves ensuring that submitted projects are feasible, processing the best projects efficiently prior to putting them to vote, guaranteeing adequate timelines for participatory budgeting cycles, and improving the voting procedure.
This initiative builds on Poltava’s four-year experience with participatory budgeting and leverages on its implementation for the preparation of the participatory budgeting programme for 2021-2026.
Stakeholders: City Development Institute of Poltava City Council; Working Group on participatory budgets; Financial Services and Engineering departments of the Poltava local government; Youth council associations; participatory budgeting project initiators (citizens).
