Action against economic crime develops trainers’ capacities on rules regulating lobbying and gifts

The Action against economic crime conducted a capacity building session to prepare future trainers at the Training Unit of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption who will subsequently provide awareness raising and guidance to public officials on rules regulating lobbying and gifts. The training of trainers aimed to enhance the skills of future trainers on delivering trainings and deepen their knowledge in the field of regulations concerning lobbying activities and gifts. The training for trainers focused on role of lobbying in democracies, national legal framework, integrity and ethical standards, and practical challenges in this domain. Additionally, it addressed the distinction between gifts and bribes, explored relevant laws, and provided guidance for recognising and handling gifts.

The Action will continue providing support to the Training Unit of the State Commission for Prevention of Corruption by providing training of trainers on additional targeted topics.

This activity was organised by Action against economic crime in North Macedonia, within the framework of the European Union/Council of Europe joint Programme Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Türkiye (Horizontal Facility III), co-funded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
