The Council of Europe, in close cooperation with the Service of the Legal Advisor and Legislation of the Presidency of the Government, supported the workshop “Towards a methodology for corruption proofing in Tunisia” from 26 to 28 October 2022.
The workshop brought together several directorates of the Presidency of the Government, legal affairs directorates of more than 15 ministries, representatives of the Presidency of the Republic as well as academics. The activity was organised in the framework of the “Project to support independent bodies in Tunisia” (PAII-T).
Corruption proofing of legislation is a key tool to prevent corruption by excluding corruption risk factors from legal acts. Once finalised, the Tunisian corruption proofing methodology will support relevant authorities to provide additional safeguards for citizens that legal acts are in accordance with the public interest.
The workshop was organised in the framework of the Project to support independent bodies in Tunisia (PAII-T), which is co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter.
