The PRECOP II project organised two back-to-back workshops on the impact of inspections on the business processes and typologies of corruption affecting entrepreneurs at the regional and municipal levels.
The workshops brought together over 50 representatives of the Federal and Regional Business Ombudsmen offices from 11 regions of the Russian Federation, high-level representatives of Prosecutor’s Office, Legislative Assembly, the Ministry of Economic Development, municipal administrations and business associations of the Rostov region. The workshops provided a platform to discuss the main findings and recommendations of the two studies and existing international and national measures and good practices to efficiently prevent corruption affecting entrepreneurs, including in the field of inspections. They also allowed soliciting participants’ feedback necessary for the finalisation of the two Technical Papers analysing these themes and recommendations contained therein. This dialogue ensured that the recommendations reflect the reform needs and address specific gaps identified in the legislation or institutional practices at the municipal level in line with international standards and good practices.
