PECK II Project in cooperation with Kosovo* Anti Corruption Agency continued to hold awarenes raising activities with public officials related to the new legal framework on Conflict of Interest. Three consecutive information sessions were held on 23 – 25 October 2019 with 73 officials representing 16 different municipalites throughought Kosovo. Participants received the Toolkit on Managing Conflict of Interest in Public Service published under the framework of PECK II Project. The events sparked lively discussions on various aspects of implementation, with participants raising multiple questions on their obligations vis à vis the new legal framework. The main questions raised include the type of information that responsible officers should gather while dealing with conflict of interest cases, fear of retaliation by supervisors and their cooperation with the Agency on this matter, and line of reporting.
These sessions are the fourth set of events organised by PECK II following the adoption of the Law on Conflict of Interest in Discharge of Public Functions subsequent to support provided to development of necessary sub-legal acts and guidances.
