On 7 and 8 June 2018, Council of Europe experts presented their findings and recommendations with regard to the draft law on protection of whistleblowers and its alignment with CM/Rec(2014)7 and other relevant international standards and good practice. The event was organized within the framework of the EU/CoE Joint Project against Economic Crime (PECK II) with the participation of representatives of institutions, civil society and international donor community.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and the Director of the Anti-corruption Agency addressed the event, expressing their commitment to the fight against corruption through various initiatives including the drafting of the new Law on Protection of Whistleblowers.
Following the workshop, the draft law was adopted at the Government meeting on 12 June 2018 and is pending approval by Assembly.
PECK II Project will continue further supporting the beneficiary institutions in the area of whistleblower protection.
