On 23 and 24 October 2018, CoE/EU Horizontal Facility Action against Economic Crime in Montenegro organized a two-day workshop on changing the political funding reporting templates currently used in the country. The workshop brought together thirty-five (35) participants, including representatives of various political entities, such as political parties and independent candidates, as well as the two key oversight bodies involved in the process, Agency for Prevention of Corruption and the State Audit Institution. The participants discussed proposed changes to the reporting form for electoral campaign funds with Council of Europe experts, and reflected on current challenges to financial reporting and spending rules. In addition, through interactive exercises, participants got the chance to fill in the new reporting forms with expert guidance and consultation with the two oversight authorities. The Agency for Prevention of Corruption will adapt the financial reporting form ahead of the next elections based on input received from CoE/EU Horizontal Facility Action against Economic Crime in Montenegro.
