The Council of Europe supported the development of the Toolkit on Managing Conflict of Interest in Public Service. Officials from various institutions within the public service in Kosovo* including senior management were presented with the Toolkit during a two days’ workshop which took place on 6 and 7 December 2018 in Pristina.
The Council of Europe expert provided an overview of the Toolkit and its main elements included therein, focusing on a set of hypothetical case scenarios which will guide officials when encountering conflict of interest in daily work. Development of the Toolkit is a follow up support provided by PECK II Project in relation to the Law on Prevention of Conflict of Interest in Discharge of Public Functions which entered into force in April 2018.
Presentation of the Toolkit was welcomed by the Anti-Corruption Agency as an ’’important tool to support implementation of the Law and enable officials to treat such cases’’. The event also served as a place to discuss and clarify remaining issues for the finalisation of the Toolkit.
The PECK II Project will publish the Toolkit and distribute it to public service institutions.
