On 30 April, the Project to Strengthen Prevention and Combating Corruption in Kyrgyzstan organised training on Council of Europe anti-corruption standards in Bishkek.The objective was to present and discuss the findings and recommendations of the reviews conducted by the Project on the compatibility of the Kyrgyz legislation with the CoE Criminal Law Convention and the Mutual Legal Assistance Convention in Criminal Matters.
Representatives of the General Prosecutor Office, Bishkek Prosecutor Office and State Service on Fighting Economic Crimes attended the training. The participants learned about the CoE Mutual Legal Assistance Convention and international best practices on its application, as well as the provisions and the application of the CoE Criminal Law Convention. The experts’ recommendations on bringing the Kyrgyz legislation and practices closer to Council of Europe anti-corruption standards were extensively discussed.
