The Training “On the verification and administrative investigation of declarations of interest of persons entrusted with top executive functions” gathered over 15 inspectors and assistant inspectors from the High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Audit of Assets and Conflicts of Interests (HIDAACI) in Vlora, Albania on 21 and 22 July 2021.

This activity was conducted as a roundtable where the inspectors and assistant inspectors worked on and discussed case studies of investigation of top executive officials. A Council of Europe expert presented good European practices on the implementation of the audit and verification in other Council of Europe member States including cases initiated by a whistle-blower. The General Inspector of HIDAACI highlighted that this activity directly contributes to the fulfilment of the latest Evaluation Round by GRECO, which recommends improving HIDAACI`s capacity to perform efficient verification of the declarations of assets and private interests.

This event will be followed by another training for HIDAACI inspectors and assistant inspectors.

The Training was organised within the “Action against economic crime in Albania”, which is a part of the joint European Union/Council of Europe programme “Horizontal Facility for the Western Balkans and Turkey.
