Some 50 representatives of the Albanian institutions including the two co-chairs of the Ad-Hoc Committee on Electoral Reform, the Chair of the Central Election Commission, members of parliament as well as representatives of International Organisations and NGOs attended the workshop on “Political party and election campaign financing”. The workshop reviewed the progress on the regulatory processes of the political party and election campaign financing in Albania; discussed initiatives for reform of the political party and election campaign financing from different groups; presented international and European good practices and recommendations in party and electoral campaign financing etc.. Furthermore, the participants agreed on follow up actions and the role of key stakeholders.
A 2nd workshop on “Political party and election campaign financing” will be organised on 24 November, in Tirana in order to discuss the recommendations for reform developed by a Council of Europe expert based on the discussions of this workshop.
